A Tiffany fish bracelet
VKD Jewels, specialist in European and US antique jewellery, brings this Tiffany fish bracelet designed by Angela Cummings for Tiffany c.1977. Cummings was an Austrian-born designer who became one of the first female designers and created a collection under her own name at Tiffany’s. She was known for colourful designs which often referenced nature. This 18ct gold piece is inlaid with lapis and onyx and is available for €19,500.
Douglas Fairbanks' Patek Philippe
This 18ct gold Patek Philippe wristwatch is offered by Spicer Warin, a first-time exhibitor at the LAPADA fair. It was once owned by US actor and Second World War naval officer Douglas Fairbanks Jr (1909-2000). Richard Spicer describes the watch as the “stand-out item” he is offering at the fair, adding: “I love the glamour of Hollywood associated with it.”
Victorian Holbeinesque suite
Moira Fine Jewellery brings a selection of antique jewellery and 20th century signed originals. Among its offerings is this Victorian Holbeinesque earrings and pendant suite. They are typical of the Victorian Renaissance revival style of the 1860s-1900s, featuring cabochon garnet and rose-cut diamonds with gold surrounds decorated with pearl and enamels. The back of each piece is elaborately engraved. This style was inspired by the work of German court painter Hans Holbein the Younger (c.1497-1543) and the designs were often copied from his portraits of ladies in Henry VIII’s court. Spicer Warin also brings this gold anchor link collar, made c.1860. The chain copies the style of those that hold anchors on ship and are defined by their oval shape and dividing bar. This piece is offered for £12,000.
