The three-day exhibition Tea Drinking Worldwide will culminate in a talk on May 24.

The show encompasses early Chinese ceramics, metalware and associated items from Battie’s own personal collection. It will take place at the firm’s dedicated fine art saleroom which opened in 2016 in Lansdowne, Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire.

Tayler & Fletcher auctioneer Martin Lambert said: “I have been friendly with David for many years and I thought this event would be perfect to celebrate the success of our showroom in Bourton-on-the-Water.”

The event is also designed to raise money and awareness for Battie’s chosen charity, Antibiotic Research UK.

Battie is now a patron of the charity following an accident in 2012 which led him to catch a hospital bacterial infection, resistant to all antibiotics.

He was hospitalised for seven months and faced losing his leg but was saved by plastic surgery.
