The Emerge Awards is a UK-wide open competition covering 12 categories including architecture, design, digital art, fashion, film, music and photography.

“The UK’s creative economy currently employs one out of 11 people contributing £160,000 a minute to its GDP, a figure that has grown year-on-year for the last decade it is a key pillar to our country’s future economic prosperity and it is vital that it flourishes beyond Brexit,” says Guy Armitage, CEO of digital submissions platform Zealous, who has set up the awards.

The winner in each category will be awarded a £1000 cash prize.

So far Brett Rogers, director of The Photographers’ Gallery; Craig Hassall, chief executive of the Royal Albert Hall; Will Alsop, Stirling Prize-winning architect; and Chi-chi Nwanoku, founder and director of the Chineke! Foundation, have been announced as judges.
