The event runs from June 29-July 1, incorporating more than 35 galleries and businesses which stay open and host viewings, talks and exhibitions for the weekend.

Organisers call the event a chance to "celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Mayfair and St James's".

However, fashion brands, such as those partnering this year, are often seen as enemies of that heritage, pushing out historic galleries as rents and rates continue to rise.

This year MAW plans to highlight the new property developments in the area and will showcase the redevelopment of Cork Street, and Burlington Galleries by the Royal Academy of Arts.

It also coincides with the 250th anniversary celebrations of the RA, which will partner with the weekend for the second year in a row. The institution's courtyard will provide food stands and performance space for the duration of the weekend.

Among the participants already confirmed are Christie's, Robilant + Voena, Messum’s, David Zwirner and Stair Sainty Gallery. New this year are Richard Saltoun and Senesi Contemporanea.
