Automobilia specialist Peter Card, who set up Transport Collectors’ Auction 13 years ago, has teamed up with Lawrences of Crewkerne to expand its department to include Motoring Literature, Automobilia & Historic Cycling sales.

Card’s next auction is scheduled for March 26, 2019. Transport Collectors’ Auction previously worked in association with Dominic Winter Auctioneers.

London’s Mall Galleries has hired Clare O’Brien as its CEO. Joining from Chiswick House and Gardens Trust where she was director, she will start in January 2019. She succeeds Lewis McNaught who is stepping down after 12 years. 

O’Brien said: “I very much look forward to building upon Lewis McNaught’s excellent work in developing the reputation and national and international reach to further the standing of British art and artists.”

Mall Galleries is home to the Federation of British Artists (FBA) and hosts programmes of exhibitions and events. The FBA comprises nine of the UK’s art societies, specialising in oil, portrait, marine, wildlife, watercolour, pastel, printmaking and sculpture.

Bonhams has appointed Brett O’Connor as senior international jewellery director and senior vice president in the US, in Bonhams New York office. He was at Sotheby’s Geneva for the past 16 years. Prior to his time in Switzerland he was head of jewellery in Hong Kong for Sotheby’s.

Christie’s has promoted Amy Wexler as chief marketing officer in New York. She will lead Christie’s global marketing function, focusing on building the brand, further developing digital marketing capability and attracting new clients. She has been deputy chief marketing officer since 2015 and joined Christie’s in 1996. She replaces Marc Sands, who was chief marketing officer from April 2014 until he left in June this year.
