Artvest, owned by Michael Plummer and Jeff Rabin, had worked with TEFAF since it launched the New York Fall event in October 2016. They launched TEFAF New York Spring in May 2017.

TEFAF said its strategy to build a “global brand that is run by one organisation” coincided with the end of the agreement with Artvest, which allowed it to “simplify the current structure and bring the New York fairs directly under the management of TEFAF”.

The Netherlands-based organisation has appointed Sofie Scheerlinck, who joined the group in March as director of global integration, to take over from Artvest, as managing director TEFAF New York.

Nanne Dekking, chairman of the TEFAF board of trustees, who is also based in New York, said: “TEFAF is enormously grateful to Michael Plummer and Jeff Rabin for enabling it to establish the two fairs in New York and for their hard work and guidance in bringing the TEFAF brand to North America.”

He said Scheerlinck’s “knowledge and experience of IT and digital platforms is extensive and we look forward to leveraging this as well as her knowledge of the US market to develop and strengthen the TEFAF brand for the future”.

Plummer and Rabin remain as shareholders in the group.
