From the 1960s he was one of that band of dedicated enthusiasts who rose at dawn on Saturdays to trawl the Paris flea markets of Saint Ouen for prizes. He amassed an impressive ensemble of past playthings and automobilia.

On October 14 his collection will go under the hammer at Osenat in Fontainebleau.

There will be almost 500 lots on offer starting with a morning session of toy cars and automobilia followed by around 350 lots of toys from makers across Europe: vehicles; boats, trains plus collections of Fernand Martin and Lehmann and more.
