Tunbridge Wells Antique Fair for Hospice in the Weald will be held at The Skinners School on St John’s Road in the Kent town on April 28.

Grandaughter Claire O'Neill said: “He had been an antique dealer his whole life, even selling things at auction right up until he passed away three months ago.

“He promised the hospice nurses, as he was so grateful for their care, that he would run an antique fair for them.

“I knew the day that he promised this, that he would be sadly unable to fulfil this, so I made the decision then that I would run it for him on his behalf.”

O’Neill promises a fair of more than 40 stalls, across two halls, selling a range of items such as silver, maps, paintings, ceramics, glass, jewellery, books, coins and furniture. Proceeds from the fair will be donated to the hospice.
