The event is dedicated to modern and contemporary drawing and launched in May this year. Like the Sandelson’s other events, it takes place at the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea.

At its staging planned for May 14-17 next year, the fair is slated to host up to 60 exhibitors and include more historical works.

Robert, who directs fairs, called the acquisition “a very good addition to our specialist portfolio of art fairs” citing its international reach as one of the attractions.

He and his brother (a property financier and art collector) will continue to work with Draw’s founder Laurent Boudier on the spring fair.

They have also taken on four people involved with fair to work across their entire portfolio, including Jill Silverman van Coenegrachts, Draw’s strategic advisor.

Robert added that they “admired the design at Draw Art Fair, the detail of the stands, the overall scenography, look and atmosphere. So it makes a lot of sense for us to invite Miśka Miller-Lovegrove [design], Mathilde Bretillot [interiors] and Fernando Gutíerrez [corporate identity] to continue to apply their combined architectural and design skills for the benefit of the entire group”.

Boudier said he looked forward to building the business “both here and abroad”.

The fair was acquired for an undisclosed sum.
