1. Chinese porcelain bowl
This Chinese porcelain celadon bowl discovered during a routine house inspection at a property just outside Bath carries hopes of £20,000-30,000 in the Fine Art & Antiques auction at Aldridges of Bath on July 30.
The large 13½in (34cm) diameter bowl has a period Yongzheng six-character seal mark and is carved with sprays of blossom, fruiting branches and the ‘three abundances’ motif (suando).

Lawrence was far from impressed by the north Derbyshire town, which he visited in 1911. In the postcard, addressed to Miss N Holderness of a Nottinghamshire family he became acquainted with in Ilkeston, he wrote: I have got here but had to bike – not a single train. It is an awful fag. Shirebrook is a most hideous place – I contrast it with Eakring. Keep well – love to all – D H Lawrence.

Felixstowe auction house Diamond Mills will offer an early 19th century oval ivory miniature diorama of a three-mast frigate in Bristol blue glass on July 31.
The piece, which comes in a 8 x 7½in (20 x 19cm) ebonised slip and gilt frame, has been attributed to G Stephany & J Dresch (1790-1802), German sculptors who worked in Bath and London and were appointed ‘Sculptors in Miniature on ivory to their Majesties’ by King George III.
Estimate: £800-1200.

AM Cassandre’s poster promoting the Italian city of Venice in 1951 is estimated at £1200-1400 at the August 3 auction held by poster specialist Antikbar.
Renowned commercial graphic designer AM Cassandre (1901-68) produced this poster promoting the Italian city of Venice in 1951. The scene of a gondolier gliding through one of the canals was published for the Venezia Graphic Design Conference and used by the Italian Tourist Office (ENIT).
This 3ft 3in x 2ft 1in (1m x 63cm) example is among more than 530 lots of vintage posters to be offered online by poster specialist Antikbar of King’s Road, Chelsea, on August 3. Estimate £1200-1400.

A Scottish silver tumbler cup from the reign of Charles II is expected to be one of the star lots at Cheffins’ Jewellery, Silver & Watches Sale in Cambridge on August 1.
It bears an assay mark for Banff in Aberdeenshire and was made c.1680 by William Scott the Elder, the first recorded silversmith in Banff. The town had one of the smallest assay offices with the result that only a limited number of items were ever marked there.
