1. Silver books
This three-volume tome on French gold and silversmiths’ work by Henri Bouilhet called 'L'Orfèvrerie française aux XVIII et XIXe siècles' is part of a 220-lot group to be offered at Lawrences of Crewkerne.
A vast collection of antique silver publications, covering a wide range of subjects from hallmarks and makers to design, has been consigned to Somerset saleroom Lawrences.
The 220-lot group, which will go under the hammer in a silver sale on January 15 in Crewkerne, come from a long-standing academic and silver collector who has been active in the field for 60 years.
Estimates range from £30-50 to around £300 for rarer types, including L'Orfèvrerie française aux XVIII et XIXe siècles, a three-volume tome on French gold and silversmiths’ work by Henri Bouilhet.

2. Mod Brit art
A 2ft x 2ft 4in (61 x 71cm) oil on canvas by Cedric Morris (1889-1982) called ‘The Red Pond’ will be offered at Sworders.
A single-owner sale of Modern British paintings and sculpture assembled over the past 50 years and valued at around £400,000 will go under the hammer at Stansted Mountfitchet auction house Sworders on January 15.
The 440-lot collection was owned by the late Barbara Holliday, who started her passion for Modern British art in the early 1970s, buying at auction on regular trips to London and bringing her purchases back to hang in her Cumbrian home, The Gale.
This 2ft x 2ft 4in (61 x 71cm) oil on canvas by Cedric Morris (1889-1982) called ‘The Red Pond’ is dated 1932 and has provenance from the painter and sculptor Maggi Hambling. Estimate £15,000-20,000.

3. Military brooches
This Royal Tank Regiment diamond sweetheart brooch will be offered at Dreweatts on January 16.
A clutch of military brooches created for the RAF and other British forces will be included in a sale of jewellery, silver, coins and medals at Donnington Priory saleroom Dreweatts on January 16.
The 8-lot group, which come from various owners, will include this Royal Tank Regiment diamond sweetheart brooch, featuring a rose-cut diamond-set early tank within a wreath and a blue-enamelled banner inscribed Fear Naught.
With 9ct gold hallmarks for Birmingham 1955, it is guided at £150-250 and can be viewed at thesaleroom.com.
4. George III mahogany wine cisterns
These 5ft 11in (1.8m) high pair of George III mahogany wine cisterns with pineapple finials on cupboard stands will be offered at Thompson Roddick on January 16 in Carlisle.

Among the lots, which include pottery and porcelain, militaria, paintings, bronzes, wine and furniture, is this 5ft 11in (1.8m) high pair of George III mahogany wine cisterns with pineapple finials on cupboard stands, acquired in 1965 from antique dealer Denys Wrey of Sloane Street, London.
