Surviving in unusually good condition, the 13½in (34cm) German toy is decked out in the lined green livery of the No 902 Highland Chief of the North British Railway.
2. 1977 Star Wars British quad film poster
A rare 1977 Star Wars British quad film poster estimated at £1000-1500 at Ewbank’s on August 23.
Vintage movie posters will be the order of the day on August 23 at Surrey saleroom Ewbank’s where 250 lots will be offered. Among them is a collection from ‘London’s greatest film fan’.
Anthony Duggan, who died two years ago at the age of 63, spent a lifetime collecting movie posters that he received as gifts from cinemas around the capital. When he died the Everyman cinema chain placed a replica Oscar in every one of its foyers with his name on it to celebrate the life of ‘London’s greatest film fan’.
The August 23 sale is the first of a number of auctions to disperse his collection which is valued at up to £100,000.
Among the items on offer is a 2ft 6in x 3ft 4in (76cm x 1.02m) British Quad film poster for the 1962 classic sci-fi horror The Day of the Triffids, starring Howard Keel and Nicole Maurey which is estimated at £300-500. Another highlight is a rare 1977 Star Wars British quad film poster showing the main characters before the poster was redesigned to depict the actors playing them. It is estimated at £1000-1500.

3. Postcard of first Japanese Wimbledon tennis player
This signed postcard depicts Iwao Aoki, the first Japanese tennis player to play at the Wimbledon Championship (from 1931-34). It is estimated at £120-150 at Hyperion Auctions of St Ives, Cambridgeshire, on August 24.
