A two-day auction starting on Monday (September 30-October 1) in central London will float your boat if you wish to bid for a suit of Maximus’ armour from the film Gladiator (estimate £30,000-50,000), Jack Torrance’s axe from The Shining (£40,000-60,000) or the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch from Monty Python and the Holy Grail (£50,000-100,000), to mention just three.

They are among 900 lots featuring in Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction being staged in London’s BFI Imax cinema in Waterloo, partnered with Odeon. It is the sixth such auction to be held by Prop Store.

Another lot of note comes from Julie Dawn Cole’s (Veruca Salt) personal collection: a Scrumdidlyumptious Wrapper from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) estimated at £6000-8000.

Or, if your budget doesn’t quite stretch that far, try a Willy Wonka Golden Ticket Announcement Poster from Tim Burton’s remake, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), estimated at £300.

Sci-fi fans are also well catered for. Spock’s screen-matched science officer costume (Leonard Nimoy) from Star Trek: the Ultimate Computer and The Omega Glory, 1966-69, is guided at £50,000-70,000, and a screen-matched Tantive IV Stormtrooper helmet from Star Wars: a New Hope (1977) is estimated at £120,000-180,000.
