Woolley & Wallis

Woolley & Wallis has hired two specialists in its paintings department. Hannah Vernon and Ed Beer have joined the team in Salisbury led by head of department Victor Fauvelle.

Vernon joins from Christie’s and has a particular interest in Modern art and 20th century paintings. Beer spent nine years working for a London dealer and specialising in Old Masters and 19th century paintings, before working at Special Auction Services of Newbury.

Jo Butler is now working as a freelance researcher for the team.

The Appraisers Association of America

The Appraisers Association of America (AAA) has appointed Chinese art and antiquities specialist Lark Mason as its board president while Heritage Auctions' Nicholas Dawes joins the board as a director.

Mason will serve a two-year term and Dawes joins for a three-year term. Mason, who appears on PBS series Antiques Roadshow, worked at Sotheby's for more than 20 years and then started his own company, iGavelauctions.com.

Dawes is a senior vice-president of special collections at Heritage in New York and a former auctioneer and department head at Phillips and Sotheby's. He too made regular appearances on the Antiques Roadshow.
