The viewing takes place at the auction house’s new Scottish office at The Edinburgh Grand and will be on show from September 13-15 during the city’s festival season.
Among the 40-odd paintings on view will be examples by Scottish Colourists such as Samuel John Peploe’s Still Life with Roses, an oil on canvas estimated at £150,000-250,000; Francis Cadell’s oil on board, Roses, (estimate £150,000-250,000) and John Duncan Fergusson’s oil on panel depicting the Faubourg St Jacques in Paris estimated at £80,000-120,000.
Other sale highlights on view include Sir John Lavery’s oil on canvas North Berwick No 3, a view of the Golf Links at Berwick, which is estimated at £150,000-250,000.
There will also be examples of more recent works by living artists such as Dame Elizabeth Blackadder and Peter Howson OBE.
The Scottish Art sale will be held in Sotheby’s London rooms on September 18.
