Dee Atkinson & Harrison are an auction house in Driffield, Yorkshire. The firm was founded in 1885 and was originally known as Cook & Dee.

They now hold regular auction of antiques, fine art, furniture and household items. The company also has separate branches that conduct property sales and agriculture auctions.

While Dee, Atkinson & Harrison's (10% buyer's premium) August 20 sale did not comprise the best quality works from Ganton Hall, Scarborough, there was no shortage of competition for the there-to-sell and fresh-to-market residual contents from its attics and cellars ensuring that the 483-lot outing eclipsed its £30,000 estimated hammer total at £48,000.

A steady start for furniture standards

THE March 5 sale at Dee Atkinson & Harrison's (10% buyer's premium) West Yorkshire saleroom was the first antiques offering of the year and, after an 83 per cent selling rate on nearly 700 lots, the auctioneers took encouragement from the way the market seemed to be picking up, with furniture, at last, edging out of the doldrums.
