A decent piece of Georgian pearlware in itself, the pot decorated with hand-painted ochre leaves, featured a painted bust of Napoleon within the 10½in (26.5cm) diameter bowl along with the word Petreat (Let him perish).

Rare enough to warrant a £1000-2000 estimate at the sale on February 15, it sold to a collector.
