The exhibition, which runs at the King’s Cross gallery until May 6, showcases the developments in British sculpture during the 1960s with a display of works by Bryan Kneale, Phillip King, Anthony Caro and William Tucker among others.
Works made in this decade are marked by an interest in new materials and minimalism. The exhibition focuses on the colourful, abstract pieces created by the ‘New Generation’ of sculptors as transitional pieces.
Hall studied at the West of England College of Art, Bristol, the Royal College of Art, London, and travelled to the US on a Harkness Fellowship in the late ‘60s. He made Tower in 1968, a unique piece that measures 9ft 3in (2.8m) tall.
Prices at the exhibition range from £800–180,000 and Tower is available for £50,500 including VAT.
