An Athlete struggling with a Python, a rare bronze reduction of the famous full-scale work dated 1877 by Frederic Leighton, is estimated at £50,000-80,000 at Bonhams on April 5.
This amount should, of course, be properly described as 58 shillings and five pence, or, more accurately as two pounds, eighteen shillings and five pence.
Understandably, no-one is demanding that after Brexit we revert to pounds, shillings and pence!
