Smiths of Newent’s sale on April 7 in Gloucester features this near pair of Martin Brothers stoneware vases incised with dragons.
In near mint condition, each are signed Martin Bros London & Southall to the bases and are dated October 1896.
Estimate £4000-6000.
Over 130 drawings from the personal collection of the caricaturist and cartoonist Gerald Scarfe (b.1936) will be offered at Sotheby’s London on April 5.
Pictured here is a 2ft 5in x 23in (75 x 59cm) pen, ink and watercolour depicting the Queen and Jeremy Corbyn.
‘Kneel! You snivelling bastard’, was drawn for The Sunday Times in 2015 and is estimated at £4000-6000.
Pictures dating from the 18th century to the later Newlyn, St Ives and Modern British Schools feature in WH Lane & Son’s sale on March 30 in Penzance, Cornwall.
Among the highlights is this vernal stilllife of daffodils in a glass jug by Winifred Nicholson (1893-1981).
The 16 x 12in (40 x 30cm) oil on canvas is signed to the verso and includes a label for Henry Gilbert of the Wills Lane Gallery in St Ives.
