Sheridan-Oliver Interiors in Godalming is offering an18th century primitive Welsh ox-bow armchair.

Constructed from mixed country woods, it passed through the hands of Thomas Crispin of St Albans about 60 years ago.

It is priced at £3500.

An early 19th century gold pair cased watch by Sam Stretch, Birmingham, is estimated at £3000-3500 in Tamlyns’ August 30 sale in Bridgwater, Somerset.

It comes from a local deceased estate along with a selection of jewellery.

Bourne End Auctions Rooms will offer this Arts & Crafts copper and enamel clock on September 6 in Buckinghamshire.

In the manner of Archibald Knox for Liberty, the 15in (38cm) high clock has a blue enamel dial, an inset turquoise enamel roundels and a circular brass movement with platform escapement.

Estimate £2000-3000.

Spitfire pilots and their exploits of derring-do continue to enthral, most recently on the big screen in the Christopher Nolan film, Dunkirk.

William George & Co of Llanelli in Wales will include the personal effects of a genuine Second World War Spitfire pilot in an online auction ending on August 27.

They were owned by Flight Lieutenant Lewis of Swansea and include an RAF greatcoat, escape boots, photographs, dog tags, flying goggles and a throat microphone. The lot will also feature a Spitfire gun camera and film, which the auction house is trying to get developed – a copy of which will be sent to the buyer.

The lot is estimated at £1500-3000.
