The exhibition is a chance for the 20-year-old gallery to show its full range and this edition is bigger than ever. Pieces by Kenneth Armitage, Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Peter Blake, Howard Hodgkin and Patrick Caulfield are all on offer, and in total around 100 different artists are represented by 126 works.

“I spend the year building up the collection,” says gallery owner Michael Gaca. “We like to make it as wide as possible and to offer interesting works at affordable prices.”

Prices range from £100-6000 and, before the show is even hung, online sales have already started.

“We try to make it fun and colourful,” Gaca adds. “It seems to work.”

The show is hung aesthetically and evolves as works are bought. It runs until January 8, spanning a busy period from the pre-Christmas season when some buyers come hunting for gifts, to the week after New Year when visitors who have come down for a holiday remain – and, in some cases, continue buying.
