The prize offering is a small low jug of stylised bird form titled Pichet Anse Prise which is the artist’s proof from a small 1953 edition of just 200. It comes from the collection of Georges and Suzanne Ramie who owned the Madoura pottery and were close friends of the artist.

This is the same jug that featured in the benchmark Ramie Collection sale at Christie’s South Kensington in 2012, an auction whose bullish results kick-started a new level of interest and pricing for Picasso pottery.

The Pichet Anse Prise has an estimate of $15,000-22,000.
