Last year, more than 33,000 people visited the show – and organisers hope this year’s event could hit the 40,000 mark. So why is this young classic car show proving so popular?

Simply, it’s the addition of more and more specialist areas of interest that help further enhance the draw of the event, say organisers. They’re building on it year upon year, ensuring plentiful interest in the many cars up for auction.

A huge draw is the central Grand Avenue ‘catwalk’, which returns for 2017. Immaculate examples of cars in 10 different body styles will be driven up and down throughout the show days.

This year’s ‘Perfect 10’ categories are: saloon, coupé, convertible, sports car, supercar, hatchback, shooting brake or woodie, sports racer, single-seater and aerodynamic pioneer or streamliner. Stand back and swoon, particularly if you’re stood in the new open paddock supporting the avenue.

At least 25 car clubs will be showcasing the best from the popular and affordable end of the classic car market in Car Club Square, while Quentin Willson and Classic Cars magazine will be advising the crowds on the smart buys in 2017.

Silverstone Classic will take centre stage here, promoting July’s historic motorsport festival with a pop-up pub called the Scarf and Goggles (house beer: Silverstone Real Ale).

“Although only in its third year, the London Classic Car Show has already established itself as a leading show,” said event director Bas Bungish. “We have introduced many innovative features and have more exciting plans for 2017.”
