This Staffordshire pottery quill holder in the form of a family of poodles is priced at £190 from dealer Philip Carrol in Gargrave, North Yorkshire.
The c.1860 group comprises a seated mother holding a basket of flowers in her mouth and two puppies, on an underglazed cobalt blue shaped base with two apertures for holding quills.
Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the first Star Wars film, Mitchells of Cockermouth will include two large-scale 1980s French and Italian movie posters from the franchise on July 15.
Le Retour du Jedi (Return of the Jedi) 1983 poster measures 5ft 1in x 3ft 9in (1.56 x 1.16m) and L’Impero Colpisce Ancora (The Emperor Strikes Back) 1980 poster measures 4ft 7in x 3ft 2in (1.41m x 97cm). Both are valued at £150-200.

Bearing marks for Luen Wo of Shanghai, the 4in (10cm) long piece is heavily embossed with dragon motifs and has a hinged cover with a scallop rim inside.

A £100 bank note dating to the Napoleonic Wars has been secured by Hansons Auctioneers for the July 25 sale of coins, medals and militaria in Etwall, Derbyshire.
The black and white note, dated March 4, 1814, was made for Derby Bank, a privately owned firm founded in Derby in 1806. It flourished for nearly a century until 1902 when it merged with the Union of London and Smiths Banks. Ultimately it would form part of NatWest.
The slightly faded note, which in today’s money would have been worth around £3500, is signed by John Bramley and bears a stag in the park insignia in the top left corner.
Estimate £200-300.
