One is the Visage (below left), a late, 1952, work in ink and brush measuring 2ft 1½in x 19½in (65 x 49.5cm) that features in Sotheby’s March 23 145-lot auction estimated at €800,000-1.2m. The other,(below right) is a 21½ x 17¾in (55 x 45cm) signed charcoal on paper study dated October 1950, which features in Piasa’s March 28 sale.

Consigned from a private collection, the drawing is one of the artist’s last depictions of his Egyptian-born model (the majority date from 1948-49) and one of only two known in charcoal. It is guided at €120,000-180,000.
