A total of 92 dealers are to stand at the fair including contemporary specialists such as Sean Kelly Gallery, David Zwirner and the Lisson Gallery. A number of antiquities, African art and Oceanic art specialists will also stand including Phoenix Ancient Art, Galerie Jacques Germain and Charles Ede. At TEFAF the hope is that they will be well-placed to capitalise on the current trend for cross-collecting ancient and contemporary works which often share the same minimalist aesthetic.

“Modern and contemporary art account for the two largest segments of art sales,” says Michael Plummer, managing director of TEFAF New York. “This combined with the fair’s prime location on Park Avenue and TEFAF’s reputation for excellence, has given us high expectations for success.”

The next TEFAF New York is planned for October 27-31.
