The sale includes several private collections including the 108-lot John Pinnick collection of blue and white English porcelain. Well-known to members of the English Ceramic Circle, Pinnick put his collection together over many years.
His interests encompassed pieces from Caughley, Lowestoft, Plymouth and Vauxhall but Pinnick’s main focus was underglaze patterns from Worcester. This hors d’oeuvre set of seven dishes dated to c.1758-60, decorated with the Willow Rock Bird pattern which is guided at £1000-1500.
The sale also features the Doug Godden collection of Mason’s china, numbering some 50 lots. These span the earliest years of production under Miles Mason through to pieces from the 1860s under Ashworth and range from the well-known Ironstone wares to finer decorative pieces.
