FIAC this year staged its 44th edition from October 19-22 in the Grand Palais and various hors murs locations around the city.
Three weeks later and the Grand Palais hosts another major fair, Paris Photo, the city’s annual selling showcase for modern, classic and vintage photographs. For four days from November 9-12, the exhibition space is filled with more than 190 galleries from around the world (29 different countries are represented).
The fair mixes plenty of modern and contemporary works by living photographers with a good helping of photography classics through to pieces by some of the earliest pioneers of the medium.
Thirty publishers and art book dealers also feature, along with a film and videos section and, in the Salon d’Honneur on the first floor, an area titled Prisms that features large-format works, series and installations.
