This series of six lunchtime concerts of early and baroque music, held on Thursdays, started on October 12 and finishes with the final event on Thursday, November 16, featuring countertenor Patrick Craig and Frances Kelly on the baroque harp.

This year’s revived concert schedule by Gray, and early music specialist Andrew van der Beek, mirrors the inaugural launch in 1979 of the lunchtime recitals presented by the two friends, when interest in baroque music did not have the following that it does now.

Van der Beek plays the contrabass serpent, a brass wind instrument with a snakelike shape, and also runs the Lacock Music School in Wiltshire which has courses for choral and consort singers. On Thursday, November 2, the Lacock Scholars will perform madrigals by Monteverdi, Gesualdo and Marenzio.
