This Indian miniature of two elephants and their riders in a landscape pictured above originates from the Mughal Empire in c.1600.
The 7 x 5½in (17 x 14cm) opaque watercolour is heightened with gold on paper and is mounted on a blue album page with gold flowers.

A private collection of Gauge 1 live-steam locomotives made by Aster will feature in Tennants’ toys, models and collectables sale in Leyburn on April 11.
Pictured above is a blue model of the Duchess of Atholl, BR 46231, a Princess Coronation Class 4-6-2 express passenger steam locomotive designed by William Stanier and built in 1938. It was part of the class known colloquially as ‘Duchesses’ – the most powerful passenger steam locomotives ever to be built for the British railway network.
This model, which features a six-wheel tender, has been professionally constructed and is estimated at £1500-2000.
This suit shown above was worn by Captain John Hackett, the first man to fly Concorde over the Atlantic and the first to take it past the speed of sound.
The suit, which features Hackett’s name on the inside, is estimated at £500-800 and will be offered at Stroud Auction Rooms in Gloucestershire on April 11-12.
A sale on April 6 at Moore Allen & Innocent in Cirencester will include the chance to buy the signatures of all four Beatles.
The autographs of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr appear on a photograph printed over two pages from The Beatles Book.
The auction house said the vendor’s aunt secured the signatures in the mid-1960s and then was gifted to them as a 21st birthday present in the 1980s.
The pages, torn in places and marked with tape, are guided at £1000-1500.
