This 19th century French walnut chest of drawers sold for £5500 at Ewbank’s.
With replacement handles and pine drawers, the 3ft 8in (1.11m) wide chest, featuring crossbanded and parquetry inlaid decoration, was estimated at £300-500 in the March 21 sale.
