The gallery, founded by dealer Simon Shore and his partner Mo Smith, is set to retail high-end art and start offering works from modern and contemporary artists including Elisabeth Frink, Henry Moore, Graham Sutherland and Alan Davie.

However, the business, which it gets its name from the year Britain entered the Napoleonic wars, is not limited to more recent works. Up next is a show of Napoleonic-period art, which is currently being curated and is due to open this autumn.

Shore has a 25-year history of art dealing in the Cotswolds. He co-founded the local (now international) gallery Trinity House in 2006 and continues to source Impressionist paintings for private treaty sales for European and US collectors and collectors.
