One, shown above, was a 19½ x 15in (50 x 38cm) advert for a November 4, 1967, Cream concert backed by The Paramounts. It was one of the first mounted to be held by Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker as they took the newly formed supergroup on the road.
The other was a similarly sized poster for a February 24, 1967, concert by The Move. This was an equally prescient booking made before Roy Wood’s group had their first hit in January of that year.
Tickets to the concerts half a century ago were 7s 6d and 8s 6d respectively. The posters, pitched at £60-80, sold to a collector at £1050 in the January 13 auction.
