The World Cup may have drawn to a close, but there is more football to come in the form of memorabilia at Mullock’s of Shropshire on July 26.
The highest-guided lot is a scarce 44-page edition of the 1967-68 European Cup football programme for the first leg of the second-round match between FK Sarajevo and Manchester United on November 15, 1967.
It is believed that fewer than 10 programmes were produced for VIPs only and not made available to the public. The match ended in a 0-0 draw, with Manchester United winning 2-1 at Old Trafford in the second leg. Estimate £6400-6800.

A ‘pristine’ wartime relief construction by John Wells (1907-2000) stars in David Lay’s sale on July 26 in Penzance, Cornwall.
The 7 x 9½in (18 x 24cm) work, made with oil paint on white ground with perspex, stone, aluminium, wire and string on card and glazed in an artist box frame, dates to c.1944-45 and was probably gifted to his friend Mary Josephine Williams.
Titled The Jo Williams Painting and Construction, it was one of three works by the artist that hung in Williams’ family home and has not been seen on the market for over 70 years. The pair met while working on the Isles of Scilly and were briefly engaged but never married. Estimate £8000-12,000.

A huge archive of photographs and other memorabilia relating to the golden age of space exploration will go under the hammer at The Canterbury Auction Galleries on July 31-August 1.
The group was assembled by Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Bedford, who rose through the journalistic ranks to become science editor of the Daily and Sunday Mirror from 1962-86. Regularly bylined, he reported from Cape Canaveral and Houston, covering momentous events such as the first ever circumnavigation of the Moon and return by Apollo 8; the first Moon landing by Apollo 11 and the last manned mission of Apollo 17 and their respective splashdowns. Bedford died in 2012 aged 90.
The archive comprises 23 ring binders containing around 450 folders of mostly official and portrait photographs of US, Soviet and European astronauts and cosmonauts, along with more than 200 miscellaneous space-related photographs, many of them NASA originals.
The archive has been consigned by Bedford’s widow and is being offered in a single lot estimated at £6000-8000.
