On Sunday, May 20, at the Royal Horticultural Society in London, there will be up to 135 tables for buying, selling and swapping classic and retro cameras.

Consumed as we are by a digital world, many people nevertheless choose to buy or collect vintage cameras. So, a new book by John Wade, a photographer and author of 30 books on the history of the camera, photographic technique and social history, is timely.

Retro Cameras focuses in detail on 100 of the most collectable vintage film cameras available on the second-hand market - Photographica is an ideal hunting ground - and targets a retro audience, particularly young photographers who want to get creative with analogue photography.

Published by Thames and Hudson, Retro Cameras has 550 illustrations and costs £18.95 hardback.
