At number 147 is Edward Seago: Ludham to London and Beyond. Running from May 9-June 8, it is the 18th exhibition the gallery has held focusing on Seago (1910-74), an artist whose work it has shown for more than four decades.

The mostly self-taught painter was an official war artist during the Second World War before returning to East Anglia where he produced the paintings that are regarded as his enduring achievement.

The show includes some of these works as well as those produced during his travels further afield and a portrait. Prices range from £10,000-120,000.

Across the road at number 33, Newlyn to St Ives opens on May 16 and showcases British artists of the 20th and 21st centuries who lived and worked in west Cornwall. It features pictures by Laura Knight, Cedric Morris, Ben Nicholson, Peter Lanyon and Bridget Riley. Prices range from £20,000-1.4m.
