A colourful embroidered crewelwork housecoat from the 1930s-‘40s, densely covered with a floral design, will go under the hammer in the May 25 sale of textiles, costume and fashion at Tennants Auctioneers of Leyburn in North Yorkshire.
The coat was purchased by the vendor’s uncle in India, where he was stationed, as a gift for his sister.
Estimate £200-300.

The red livery of Tri-ang’s London Transport toy bus appears relatively frequently on the collecting market. Far scarcer, however, is this example shown above, in Birmingham Corporation blue and cream livery, complete with the city coat of arms.
For a brief period in the 1960s, Tri-ang offered by special order, and at a premium, toy buses in three major city transport liveries, Birmingham among them.
The 21½in (55cm) long, pressed-steel pull-along toy will feature in a toy sale on May 21 at Lichfield auction house Richard Winterton. It is estimated at £300-400.

A late 19th century album of Orientalist photographs is up for sale at Ringwood Auctions on May 19 in Hampshire.
It contains more than 60 images of Egypt, including ancient sites and figural studies, and features works by leading commercial European photographers of the day such as Hippolyte Arnoux (1860-90) and Antonio Beato (1825-1906), the younger brother of Felice Beato.
Estimate £400-500.
