The first edition of this little work that made £2800 in Essex is one of only three to feature in auction records for the last 40 years.
The most recent, and way out at the top of the auction price lists at £8500, was a copy that lacked one of the 64 little maps (many of them after Pierre Duval) but was hand coloured throughout and made £8500 at Christie’s South Kensington in 2010.
