W&H Peacock in Bedford will offer a first edition of for Little-Brother and Little-Sister and other Tales by the Brothers Grimm, illustrated by Arthur Rackham (1867-1939).

The deluxe limited edition was made in a run of 525 copies in 1917 and is signed and numbered by Rackham. This copy will go under hammer on November 2 estimated at £400-600.

The Art Nouveau glass creations of Émile Gallé will be included in a sale dedicated to Contemporary Living at Dreweatts in Donnington Priory on November 7.

Among the 17 pieces, which all come from a single-owner collection, is a signed 11½in (29cm) high cameo tall vase with a tapered swollen neck and decorated with grapes and vines against an orange ground.

Consigned in a damaged case marked for The Artificers’ Guild Ltd in London’s Maddox Street, an Arts & Crafts pectoral cross is among more than 500 lots of jewellery coming onto the market via Salisbury auction house Woolley & Wallis on November 1.

The stone-mounted silver piece is chased with foliate decoration and centred with an oval-shaped garnet cabochon and four moonstones.

It once belonged to George Halford (1865-1948), an Anglican Bishop and Bishop of Rockhampton in Queensland, Australia, from 1909-20. Inscribed with his name on the reverse, the cross was gifted to the Rev Percy Demuth and passed by family descent until it was acquired by the vendor.

The poster craze of the 1890s was a prolific period for the English-born American artist Louis John Rhead (1857-1926). Rhead’s designs appeared regularly in popular American magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Century Magazine and Ladies Home Journal and were heavily influenced by the pioneer decorative artist Eugène Grasset.

This 2ft 11in x 5ft 1in (89cm x 1.55m) Art Nouveau advertising poster of swans from 1897 is estimated at £600-1200 in a sale of more than 500 vintage posters at Antikbar in west London on November 10.
