Next up for the ivory bill is a Second Reading in the House of Lords.

The ivory bill is due to go to Report Stage in the House of Lords on 24 October, after which it has a Third Reading and Consideration of Amendments. If amendments are made it would return to the Commons, before Royal Assent is sought.
Paragraph 174 of the accompanying ‘Ivory Bill Explanatory Notes’ states: “The Bill will be brought into force no earlier than six months after Royal Assent.”
Dealer body BADA estimates that provided the six month period is adhered to, the bill’s restrictions will not be expected to come into effect any earlier than the second half of April 2019 and possibly later.
