One was a 1769, fourth edition of Benjamin Franklin’s Experiments and Observations on Electricity... (above). Illustrated with seven engraved plates and other woodcut illustrations, this was also the first collected edition of his works.
Some offsetting from the plates to the text was evident and the period calf binding was beginning to crack, but it sold well at £13,000.
