The so-called ‘Ruby Red Collection of Cow Creamers’ was one of the largest ever assembled, totalling 112 in number and weighing a collective 25kg.

The owner amassed the collection over many years, buying from auction, fairs and dealers across the globe with many being sourced in the US. The cow creamers are now being offered through auctions across the UK via independent antique auctioneer Mark Littler.

Seven have been consigned to a jewellery, silver and watches sale at Cambridge saleroom Cheffins on October 25.

This 7 x 10in (18 x 26cm) ‘oversized’ sterling silver example from Germany, above, has red hardstone cabochon eyes and is guided at £800-1200.
