A solution to this was the ‘striptease’ suit. This was an all-in-one camouflaged jumpsuit which covered civilian clothes and was easily disposed of using dual zips at the front. The agent would parachute with a small spade attached to their leg to bury the suit and parachute after landing.

One of these suits, consigned by a female collector of militaria, was offered at Special Auction Services (17.5% buyer’s premium) of Newbury on February 5, estimated at £600-800. Complete with the accompanying SOE helmet and original cushion, dated 1944, it sold for £5200 to an online buyer in France.
