This pair of Chelsea gold anchor candlesticks, modelled with a tiger and leopard after Aesop’s fable, against a bocage background, are part of a group of English porcelain figures from the estate of William Kelly Simpson.
The 12in (30cm) high figures, with earlier provenance to Arthur S Vernay Inc of New York and the estate of Abby Aldrich Rockefeller, have some restoration and are estimated at $800-1200.
