Results will be collated into a report that may be used as part of a legal challenge to the act.

BADA, with the support of the other trade associations, has commissioned the survey from independent research company Woodnewton with the deadline for responses on February 11. Read more about the survey here

Separately, the European Commission is reviewing whether to amend its approach to elephant ivory and is unofficially floating ideas for tightening up on the evidence needed to demonstrate that pre-1947 worked ivory objects are indeed ‘pre-1947’, according to members of the antiques trade.
