The first Guildford antiques and brocante street market will run on Sunday, September 8, in the Surrey town’s high street.

Edwards, who set up her business five years ago, said: “The intention is to create a vibe that will draw additional footfall to the centre of Guildford and add to the cosmopolitan atmosphere which already exists. With its close proximity to London we are hoping this will resonate.”

Fairs line-up

Edwards’ existing markets include one in West Sussex and four in Hampshire: Bishops Waltham, Romsey, Alresford and Hamble le Rice.

The Romsey markets are held in five venues across the town and attract 3000 visitors. In the West Sussex town of Chichester the antiques and decorative arts market also brings a 3000 footfall to the busy town centre.
