A potential star of Wokingham Auctions’ sale on July 20 is this painting by the French Fauve artist Henri Manguin (1874-1949) depicting his children in St Tropez.

Le Repos, Jeanne et Pierre Manguin à Saint-Tropez, a 2ft 2in x 2ft 8in (65 x 81cm) oil on canvas, was painted in 1921.

It comes to market having been purchased by the mother of the vendor from Manguin’s family (his wife inherited the artist’s works when he died in 1949). It was also exhibited at the World’s Fair in New York in 1960.

Estimate £80,000-120,000.
