This I found very helpful and then I wondered if the auction houses in the UK could do the same.
Furthermore, many upmarket auction houses feature a screen showing all the bid increments during the auction.
Would it not be possible for the screen to be modified so that it would have a space where the total to be paid would be shown, ie including the buyer’s premium and any taxes due?
This would certainly help new bidders in the room and might even help the professionals to know for certain the final price.
