Sally Turner, one of the founding members of LAPADA, has been dealing for 50 years, and has now closed her Chelsea shop to trade online.

Among the range of antiques she offers is this Chinese Ming dynasty ceramic storage cupboard, c.1500, with green glaze, for £1500. It measures 11in (28cm) wide and consists of 15 items including bowls, jugs, an urn, various pieces of fruit and loaves of bread as well as a duck, ox head and a fish.

It is among a range of similar items that were made to represent the prestige of their nobleman and may have been a funeral item, used to assist the deceased in the afterlife.

Such Chinese burial goods usually take familiar forms such as musical instruments, weapons and utensils.
